Vecchio Podere Santa Cristiana is a working vineyard, we grow red barbera and white moscato grapes. Our production is increasing annually as we have undertaken a major investment programme since we arrived in 2004. At the moment it is possible to see a broad spectrum of vine development, from 1 year old barbatelli young vines to our mature 50 year old barbera vines that produce our own premium Barbera d'Asti DOC red wine lable "Piano Piano".

We are happy to walk our guests through the vineyards and talk about our work and the lifecycle of the vine from dormat plant in winter to harvest in the autumn and of course the wine making process. All work on the vines is undertaken by hand, and we probably visit each individual vine about 100 times during the course of the year to undertake the many tasks that ultimately produce our Moscato and Barbera wines. Our guest house is set in the heart of our vineyards and it is possible to see, smell and touch the very essence of the ancient and natural grape production methods. The more adventurous can explore the surrounding land on foot, bike or horseback or you can of course simply relax by the pool overlooking the vineyards with views beyond over hills to the alps.
