	The village of Castlenuovo Belbo [meaning new castle on the river Belbo] is nestled in the beautiful Monferrato Hills 122 metres above sea level. Its authentic charm survives unspoilt by any ‘designed’ chic with village life going on as it always has done. People shop in the local stores and meet at the village bar for a coffee. They talk about the weather a lot but its not small talk, here concern focuses on how the tempo [weather] is affecting the wine or fruit harvest. Rated Number one B&B/Inn in the Province of Asti (tripdvisor) - *Vecchio Podere Santa Cristiana* is situated about 1.5 miles from the village on a hilltop 219 metres (689 feet) above sea level. Our commanding position provides views over rolling hills covered in fertile vineyards. Dotted in between the vineyards are fruit orchards and woods. This natural habitat attracts wildlife and it is home to deer, martens, pheasants, and the occasional boar. On clear days the vista also rewards viewers with a stunning panorama of the Alps including the famous peaks of Mt. Rosa , Mt Bianco (Mt Blanc), the Matterhorn and Mt Viso.
